Students of The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation, Ibadan staged a protest earlier today, against the state of insecurity within the college premises.

NAIRAFAME gathered that the protest was triggered by reoccurring attacks on students by suspected cult members and hoodlums, with the latest victim being Abdulazeez Babatunde, a National Diploma 2 student of the Department of Fishery technology.

Gathered in their numbers at the entrance to the school, students alleged that its management had no interest in their security.

Babatunde who is currently hospitalized was said to have been stabbed for refusing to give the hoodlums money. Speaking to Splash FM, Taimiyu Taiwo, Student Union president of the institution noted that the students simply wanted security.

When contacted, Dr. Sesan Olukayode, Dean of Student affairs said management was doing its best to save the situation while denying the involvement of members of its staff.

Chief Security officer of the institution who refused to be put on record or identified assured the students that the issues would be resolved within 2 weeks. At the time of filing this report, a meeting had already been set up between representatives of the students, Department of the State security service and management of the institution.
