  • An ex-Big Brother Naija finalist, Alex Asogwa, popularly known as Alex Unusual, was auctioned in Abuja, for N300,000 to raise funds for cancer patients.

    The model and writer who was also the host at the Project Pink Blue fundraising show held in Abuja on Thursday night was adopted by her new family from Niger state after a tough bargaining process.

    The social media savvy Alex took to her Instagram page to excitedly announce that she will so be auctioned adding that the proceeds will go into the treatment of cancer patients.

    “About to be auctioned for charity. All proceeds from the auction go towards treatment for breast cancer patients,” Alex wrote.

    She also thanked Project Pink Blue for making her part of the event. Alex wrote;

    “Last night will forever be etched in my heart. @projectpinkblue Thanks a lot for the fulfillment and inner peace I feel this morning.

    “Time and money spent helping people do more for themselves is far better than giving just because you can.

    “Now I understand why the Bible says we should emulateChrist-likee qualities. We become His influence, his hands and heart for everyone around us.

    “God intervenes in people’s lives all the time but we seldom document this special faith and hope building events.

    “Yesterday was a hope raising day and I’m happy I was part of it.”

    Speaking at the event, Alex said,

    “I know what it feels to lose someone close to you as a result of this ailment,” she said.

    “I lost two people to cancer not because there were no funds for treatment but because they did not find out on time. Cancer is real and it kills irrespective of your age, class or social status.”

    Other celebrities auctioned at the event were Rachael Okonkwo, reality star and fitness coach; Kemen, Bryan Okwara and Charles Okpaleke of Play network.
